Ani (Anastasia): 9/9/2010 - 9/23/2018
Our dear, sweet, "Ani girl" passed away last night, from lymphoma. She leaves a hole in our hearts - the hearts that she filled with all of her love.

She was our first dog, and she was so wonderfully sweet and cheery. Her precious tail, always wagging at hyper-speed. She was always so happy to meet everyone!

She will live in us forever, but no longer be by our side. We loved her, and miss her every minute. Thank you, Tender Touch team, for giving her such good care and so much love. We are forever grateful. XOXOXOXOXO

Remi: 1/1/2008 - 7/9/2018
I still remember the video of the day we brought home our adorable 8-week-old Lab puppy. He soon grew into a "mama's boy," a sweet, playful friend who snuggled with me when I was sad and snored like a freight train when he slept.

Remi joined our family when our only other child was Max the Husky, before our son was born in 2010. Once he reached toddlerhood, Remi had trouble understanding why this little human was so loud and clumsy. He became stressed and fearful. After he gave a warning snap at our son in the summer of 2013, we made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome our grown pup after he'd been with us for 5 years.
He was a good boy, just in the wrong environment. A shelter was not an option - I couldn't put him through the stress and I couldn't bear not knowing his fate. The foster groups that I contacted replied with, "we're sorry, good luck" emails. As a vet tech at Tender Touch, I was fortunate to have a large network of pet lovers - it was one of our wonderful clients that connected me with the perfect family.

They met me at the hospital for an introduction and fell in love right away. It was so hard to hand over his leash and watch him walk out the door...but it was the best decision I ever made for him. Remi was surrounded by love and spoiled (the good kind) to pieces. He shared playtime and cozied up on the couch with his new fur-brother, Tripp. Summer months were spent swimming, and he helped his new mom to nurture dozens of foster kittens.

Unfortunately, God called Remi across the Rainbow Bridge sooner than any of us could have expected. He was a sweet boy that left his pawprints on the hearts of two families, and he'll never be forgotten. Thank you, Remi, for being my constant companion for your first 5 years. And thank you, Paula, Bob, & Cory for giving him the most amazing life for the next 5 years. We are all forever grateful. ~ Stephanie

Cocoa: 2/13/2005 - 5/8/2018
Sadly, our sweet Cocoa passed on to the Rainbow Bridge 2 months ago . We knew she was very special cat when we brought our dog Hal to a pet shelter and she picked us out. She rubbed right up to him and we knew she was the one for our family.

Cocoa's best friends were Hal, Buster, and Ruby (all dogs) & our children Lexi and Tony. She made this dog lover a cat lover too and is the reason our two kids are truly cat obsessed. ❤️

We were truly blessed to have her as part of our family for a little over 13 years. We miss you Cocoa. She was truly the sweetest! She has forever left her paw prints on our hearts.

Brady Williamson: 8/29/2000 - 6/19/2017
"I've always wanted a dog, and my at-the-time-future-wife wasn't so keen on the idea at first. But after much research of dog types and some insights from friends, we found a Husky-German Shephard mix litter of puppies in Shellsburg, PA.

The only stipulation with the Mrs. was she got a large portion of what the new pup's name would be. And her love for The Brady Bunch show says it all. He grew up large, maxing out around 82 lbs at his peak.

Though he was my shadow, he would make friends with anyone at anytime. A couple of times leading me to search some parks for the nearest cookout. See, he knew kids always had food around :)

We didn't have children, so he was spoiled to tears, but he did get to play with his human cousins from our large family and he was always loved our 'pack.'

We had a doggie day-care nearby that he loved going to as well, and though he was large they enjoyed letting him play chaperone with the little puppies.  He knew how to keep the young ones in line with no more than a bark or growl, he was so gentle though they could nip and get under foot without him raising a fuss. He would continue to go off and on again until he was around 12 yrs old.

He was a dear responsibility and comforting friend his entire life. Nothing has broken my heart more than to watch our old man succumb to his age.  Tender Touch helped him cross over in the early summer of 2017." - Patrick Williamson

The Rainbow Bridge Poem

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again.

There is only one thing missing - they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth.
So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!

The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and hug him.

He licks and kisses your face again and again - and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting  pet.  Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be apart.
